Reference Librarian, MCC

As a reference librarian at a small community college, I am able to learn a lot about librarianship and how each department within the library works together.  I am also gaining a lot of experience working with a population with diverse needs.  In a community college, users come from all walks of life, and their background knowledge when it comes to library services and usage varies greatly. Most of my work in this setting is set at the reference desk.

Besides answering patron questions, I am working on a project to update library tutorials designed for nursing students, which are accessed in the general nursing program Blackboard page.  When possible, I try to get in as much instructional time as I can, teaching library sessions to the College Success class, as well as others, as requested.
